there are only 6 days left until the start of the run. and i’ve only got 2 days left in my house here before i take the train down to New York in preparation for an interview with ABC News (funny sidenote: the interview is in the ABC studios at 9:30 in the morning, and the confirmation email explicitly said that hair and makeup artists are NOT provided. uh ohhhh).
someone asked me the other day if i’m excited about the run. i agreed that i was, but as i thought about it more as i lay in bed that night, i realized that excited isn’t a strong enough word. “exploding” is more like it. i feel like the fuse has been lit, and come wednesday morning, 9/9/09, at 9 a.m., the whole thing goes boom.
i know i say this all the time, but i really want to thank you all again for your support. keep the comments and the emails coming – they continually remind me that this is WAY bigger than me and my bare feet.
please come to the Esplanade Plaza by the North Cove Marina in Battery Park and say hi – 9/9/09 – press conference starts at 8:30 a.m. See ya there!

Tellman, you are charming and lil bit crazy, yes. I cross my fingers!
Way to go Tellman! As an ultramarathoner myself, I know what you’re in for! Just remember to take care of your feet! Have ice water baths available to you frequently–e.g., every 100 miles or so to help reduce swelling. I did this on my run around Cayuga lake (85 miles) several years ago, and it helped tremendously.
Of course, 3,000 miles is a long way, so take it easy, keep your intake of vitamin C high (at least 2-3,000 milligrams per day) and obviously, eat lots of calories–mostly healthy stuff, of course! I know you’ll do great and hit that $100 million mark! Go for it!

Never ran as much as a lap in my life, at the age of 60, I picked up a book and decided to run a marathon, ran the Las Vegas marathon, started dead last, and finished. Anyone, can run a marathon, its all about getting in condition and mind set, no matter what age you are. Congratulations, on your worthy cause and journey –Godspeed, wish you the best. Hey Tellman,
All power to you – may your feet kiss the asphalt softly and the weather treat you kindly with the wind and the sun at your back.

thanks tellman!
Tellman,
Why don’t you tell us the route you will be taking across the U.S.?
Maybe we could organize a human chain to cheer you on and stuff your fanny pack with donations.
Think about it!
Dave
Tellman! Well done my man you are a true inspiration! Wish I could be there to run a bit with you.
Support from New Zealand!

All right Tellman! Just remember, this is a long run (really!), so, don’t explode at the start. Start slow, and taper… and of course…
Have fun,
-barefoot ken bob
Tellman,
You bring tears to my eyes, If I could walk I would be beside you the whole time. You are doing this for such a good cause. As you know I have a non-profit that aids qualified homeless that were involved in a natural or man-made disaster. Since you are out there Supporting Teen Homelessness you really hit close to my heart.
I pray for all the best for you. GOD bless you.
