Tellman, don’t mistake genius with “craziness”. What might look like insanity to some, is a soul-inspiring stroke of heart-felt genius to the rest of us!! You are an inspiration of “what one man can do”, and maybe by the time you reach the West coast, you will have gathered a group of us, equally inspired to see “what one group can do”! See you in the the West!

12 Winona Cole September 7, 2009 at 12:19 pm

In your email of 9/7/02 so inspired me. You said, “But something about this just feels right….. For most of my adult life
I’ve been laser focused on helping people….enjoyment for
everyone I possibly could…I worked 60 hour weeks to help scores of people”

That’s where it’s at isn’t it? It’s where we are in fulfillment, where we become invaluable to the world. You say you are crazy, BUT It sounds to me as though you are really different. You, Tellman are a couple of notches above normal… you care. Run Tellman run.

Thank you for doing this,
Winona

13 Tena September 7, 2009 at 11:31 am

I don’t think you’re crazy at all Tellman…I think you have been truly blessed…and you’re sharing your blessings with many who are not as fortunate…and who truly need a blessing…So…make your run…and then rest your feet…I’m sure yourfeet will need a rest…thanks for being the kind of guy who believes in helping and sharing…

14 jenni September 7, 2009 at 10:53 am

You GO GO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Heck, I’d join you, But I’m not sure I’d make it. I’m almost at the desired weight to be able to run..Having lost about 50 lbs. I’m almost ready. Next time.
You, My friend are an inspiration…All these years watching you, modeling after you,
YOU ROCK !!
Keep inspiring others to go forward~~ Its what you do best and I Love You for it!!
Thank you for being you!
Jenni

15 Koorosh Vahabi September 7, 2009 at 10:43 am

Tellman,

This is very inspiring, maybe we will see a movie made out of this story soon.

I am curious to know, when you initially run barefoot, do you get blisters? Do your feet ever adapt completely, to a point where you can run without any blisters on your feet.

Keep going.

Koorosh

Good luck Tellman. I used to run marathon’s after I got a bit slower in short distances. I always felt the greatest sense of freedom when I was running the roads. My heart is with you. Hey Heather,
My definition of barefoot is barefoot.
skin to ground.

I used vibram five fingers to make the transition, but i am aiming to go skin to pavement the whole way across – i figure that if i rip up my feet i can use moleskin if necessary to deal with abrasions.

that cool with you?
-Tellman

30 Heather Ulrich September 6, 2009 at 8:38 pm

Congrats on the coverage and best of luck with the fundraising.
What is YOUR definition of “barefoot” for the run? Always, each and every step, actually BARE feet? Or, something different?

31 Tinu September 6, 2009 at 4:38 pm

I love that they showed your feet. Go Tellman!

32 Ryan Thompson September 6, 2009 at 3:50 pm

Hi Tellman,
I’m happy to see that you’re getting some national coverage for your barefoot run to raise money for homeless youth. I think that you will continue to receive media coverage from other prominent new stations as they learn about what you’re doing. Great purpose, great guy, great results! I have no doubt that you’ll raise 100 million for homeless youth. May the force be with you Tellman!
